“How AT Ensures Fairness and Alignment Through Activity-Based Placement”

At Afternoon Tea (AT), we pride ourselves on fostering a community that values teamwork, consistency, and fairness. A key part of this is ensuring that every member is positioned in a container that matches their activity level. Whether you’re a highly active player or someone with a more casual schedule, our system is designed to help you thrive while contributing to the clan’s overall success.

This article will explain how AT manages inactivity, the importance of activity-based placement, and what you can do to ensure you’re in the right container for your current situation.

Activity is the backbone of any successful clan. In AT, we use activity levels to:

  • Ensure Fairness: Players who contribute consistently are rewarded appropriately, while those who are less active are placed in containers that better suit their pace.
  • Maintain Balance: Containers are designed to group players with similar activity levels, creating a balanced and enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Promote Growth: By aligning players with containers that match their activity, we encourage steady progression and prevent burnout or frustration.

AT’s container system is designed to dynamically adjust based on your activity. Here’s how it works:

  1. Initial Placement:
When you join AT, you’re placed in a container that matches your activity level based on your application and initial performance.
  2. Ongoing Evaluation:
Your activity is continuously monitored through participation in clan activities, including Clan vs. Clan (CVC), Hydra, and other in-game activities.
  3. Repositioning for Inactivity:
If your activity drops below the standard of your current container, you’ll be repositioned to a container that better matches your current participation level. This ensures fairness for both you and your clanmates.
  4. Opportunities for Promotion:
If your activity increases and consistently meets the standards of a higher container, you’ll be eligible for promotion to a more active container.

Inactivity is a natural part of life, and we understand that real-world responsibilities can sometimes take priority. However, to maintain fairness and balance within the clan, we have a clear process for managing inactivity:

  1. Monitoring Activity:
If your activity drops below the expected level for your container, you’ll be flagged for review.
  2. Repositioning:
You’ll be moved to a container that better aligns with your current activity level. For example, if you’re in Container 3 but your activity drops, you may be repositioned to Container 4 or 5.
  3. Communication is Key:
If you know you’ll be inactive for a period of time (e.g., due to work, travel, or personal commitments), let your leaders know. Proactive communication can help us adjust your placement without penalties.
  4. Returning to Activity:
When you’re ready to resume regular participation, your activity will be reassessed, and you’ll have the opportunity to move back to a higher container if your performance meets the required standards.

Here are some tips to help you stay aligned with your container and avoid unnecessary repositioning:

  • Be Honest About Your Availability:
If you know your activity will drop temporarily, communicate with your leaders. We’re here to support you!
  • Set Realistic Goals:
Choose a container that matches your current availability and commitment level. It’s better to excel in a lower container than struggle in a higher one.
  • Plan Ahead:
If you have a busy period coming up, consider requesting a temporary demotion to a lower container. This ensures you won’t be penalized for inactivity.
  • Stay Engaged:
Even during busy times, try to contribute in small ways. Minimal activity is always better than none.

Our activity-based placement system ensures that:

  • Every Player Feels Valued:
Whether you’re a hardcore grinder or a casual player, there’s a place for you in AT.
  • Containers Remain Competitive:
By grouping players with similar activity levels, we maintain a balanced and competitive environment.
  • Fairness is Prioritized:
No one is penalized for being less active, and no one is held back by inactivity from others.

At Afternoon Tea (AT), we believe that every member deserves a place where they can thrive and contribute at their own pace. Our activity-based container system is designed to ensure fairness, balance, and growth for everyone.

If you have questions about your placement, need to adjust your activity level, or just want to chat about your goals, don’t hesitate to reach out to your leaders or join the conversation on Discord.

  1. My calibration period should be done but I plan on taking a break from the game after this PR CVC. What steps should I take if I plan to rejoin in the future and to not receive any penalties?

    1. Hi Kenny,

Thank you for reaching out and for being proactive about your plans. Here’s what you need to know to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth return in the future:

      1. Complete CVC
Leaving before the CVC tally is complete will result in your profile being marked as missing that round, which could impact your future re-entry. Wait at least 48 hours after the round has concluded before leaving to ensure your contributions are properly recorded.

      2. Choose the Right Exit Path
      If you can maintain semi-activity:
Move to the lowest container that supports your ability to meet the top chest Demon Lord daily. This is the only way to leave without an inactivity flag on your profile. However, if your ATI drops too low, you may still be demoted and flagged for inactivity.

If you cannot log in daily:
Leave the clan entirely and reapply via the #promotion-requests channel when you’re ready to return. Please note: If you leave entirely, your profile will be marked inactive; and an inactivity flag will remain on your profile permanently.

      What Happens When You Return
As a returning player, you will not receive calibration privileges. This means you’ll start at the bottom container and will need to demonstrate consistent activity and performance to move back up.

When you’re ready to rejoin, submit a request in the #promotion-requests channel.
